Black and walnut hand coffee grinder standing on a table with the crank fitted, coffee beans around it
Walnut and Aluminium Hand Coffee Grinder
A hand coffee grinder in matte black aluminium with a walnut base and a walnut crank knob, built around a conical burr. It stands 16.8 cm tall and comes apart into three pieces for cleaning.
Black aluminium above, walnut below.
The upper body is matte black aluminium and the lower section and crank knob are walnut. It is the kind of object that stays out on the counter.
Aluminium · stainless steel · walnutA conical burr, held true on a steel shaft.
Beans are cut between a conical burr and an outer ring rather than smashed by a blade, which gives an even grind. A spring holds the shaft steady as he turns.
Conical burr · sprung steel shaftFine for espresso, coarse for a plunger.
A marked dial under the burr sets the grind. He can go fine or coarse and come back to the same mark next time.
Marked adjustment dialThree pieces, no tools.
The body, the walnut section and the crank separate by hand, so old grounds can be brushed out before they go stale.
