Each watch sits on a sprung cushion that takes up the slack in the strap, so a steel bracelet is held as steadily as a leather one.

The front is glazed and the interior is lit, with five settings from a dim glow to full brightness, worked from four touch points along the top edge. That is the difference between a box that stores watches and a case that shows them. On a dresser it reads as a display, which is most of the argument for giving one.

The case is wood grain on metal feet, with the maker's name set into the interior panel. Brown comes with a pale champagne lining; black comes with a dark textured one. Both are made in all three sizes, which is six combinations in total.
